From the Road: Matt & Alesong head to Montana
In December of 2024, we began a new partnership with a distributor to get our beers into Big Sky Country. Yep, Montana! While Doug and Brian have family property there, we knew that Montana is beer drinking country, and they needed a little barrel-aged Oregon love, so we found the perfect partner in George's Distributing.
George's is a 50 year old company that began life as a food distributor, then wine, and now they sell beer statewide in Montana. They carry many great Montana brands, some wonderful imported beers, and also some Oregon brands you know, like Breakside and Hopworks. Now, they feature Alesong Brewing and Blending.
Last week, I was able to spend the entire week driving across that beautiful state to participate in the Geroge's Great Tour, a trade show where I got to pour beer to all of their beer accounts in which they sell. I got to know the sales reps as well, and really get a feel for the market. In addition, on a personal note, I got to stay with some friends in Billings and Missoula who I hadn’t seen for quite some time. In addition, I got to recomnect (read:drink with) an old buddy Matt Blair, who Brian and I worked with at Oakshire in a past life, and who now owns his own brewery in Stevensville, MT.
The state is gorgeous, the beers are delicious, and I can't say enough about the friendly people who live there and now get to drink Alesong. I really had a great week in Montana.
If you are ever visiting Montana, or know of anyone living up there, let them know they can grab an Alesong or three. We're in Billings, Bozeman, Helena, Missoula, Kalispell, and Whitefish, in addition to other smaller towns like Red Lodge, Great Falls, and Butte. You can find some of the first accounts to sell our beer, here.
Cheers to Montana!
